This robovac offers impressive AI-powered obstacle avoidance. It also has powerful mopping, and an auto-emptying dock. It also has a HEPA filter that seals out allergens.

It's not as good at scouring pet hair and other small dirt as our top choices, but it's great for shoppers on a budget. It also has the most features in terms of apps including virtual no-go zones and zone cleaning.

1. Roomba iRobot i3+ from iRobot EVO

The iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO is a solid, well-built robot that does excellent job of vacuuming dry floors. It comes with a large external dirt compartment that it automatically emptys into the docking station when it's full, and then resumes cleaning after it's fully charged. It's efficient in getting rid of medium and small debris, but struggles with hair from pets.

This bagless robot sweeper, like the i3 EVO uses iRobot’s iAdapat navigation software to understand and remember your home. It also has a feature that automatically adjusts the suction power and head height according to the type of floor it is working on.

It was a success during our tests on hard floors and low-pile, removing the majority of the smaller, more difficult debris we put on each surface, and the larger crumbs of cereal that we placed on the floor. It's not as adept at picking up pet hair than the other models we test. It may also get stuck on cords or toys if you do not remove them before sending the robot to clean.

In our tests In our tests, the i3+ EVO cleaned for about 90 minutes before the battery ran low and it reverted to its initial state. This is more than the i7+ or s9+ which was able to run for just 60 minutes in our tests. The i3+ EVO also has a great performance in recollecting the exact place it left off on a given run however this isn't always the case with other robots we've examined.

The i3+ EVO dust bin is 1.5 quarts in size which is smaller than the majority of other robots that we test. The bin has a release button on the side, which you can press to empty the bin. You can also empty it using the docking station's CleanBase Automatic Dirt disposal, which suctions up the contents of its internal dustbin before emptying it into station's external dirt bag.

2. Eureka Q5 pro

The Q5 Pro offers outstanding cleaning efficiency, with 5,500pa suction and a mopping system that can be up and running in just a few minutes. The integrated 770ml dust bin and water tank can reduce the frequency of emptying, and its huge capacity allows for longer mopping sessions. The 240-minute runtime makes it a great choice for larger homes. Its impressive smart navigation technology, courtesy of PreciSense LiDAR mapping, also ensures comprehensive coverage of the room, while also allowing the robot to maneuver around obstacles.

The Q5 Pro is unlike some other robot vacuums that require Wi-Fi in order to operate. However, its battery is quite short, so you will need to recharge it often in case you intend to use the machine for a long period of time. It is relatively easy to maintain, with an empty dirt bag that is easily replaced and a straightforward maintenance schedule. It's also less expensive than its more expensive competitors.

The Q5 Pro can be a little bit finicky when it is dealing with pet hair as well as larger debris, but it's a great product overall. In our tests, it removed more debris from floors and carpets that are low-pile than the Dirt Devil Endura Max, though it struggled to get into tight corners and recessed areas of carpets with high pile. It's also a lot more maneuverable, and the filtering system does a fantastic job at trapping allergens. However, its straight suction floorhead is low to allow for the passage of large or large-sized debris. There are other minor issues like the absence of sophisticated features and a limited remote control capabilities. Despite these limitations however, the Eureka Q5 Pro is a excellent choice for those who are looking for a basic budget robot vacuum with mopping capability.

3. SwitchBot K10 Plus

The SwitchBot K10 Plus is a great choice if you want a smart vacuum that can also mop. The robot is compact design which allows it to fit into narrow spaces like corners and under furniture that larger robots cannot reach. It also has a LiDAR sensor which can detect obstacles and avoid collisions.

During testing during testing, the K10 Plus quickly and efficiently vacuumed up dust, pet hair, crumbs, and other debris from our carpeting and hardwood floors. It also was able to reach into tight spaces like under our beds or around the legs of chairs. In addition to vacuuming, it can perform mopping tasks with a separate cloth or wet wipe. The K10 Plus comes with a small box of wet wipes that will get you moving.

The app for the K10 Plus is intuitive and simple to use. It offers a variety of customization options such as setting a time that the machine won't be disturbed, adjusting its map layout or setting a timer of when it needs to clean. The app tracks the life expectancy of accessories such as the side brush, sensor and bin filter. This is helpful for knowing when it's time to replace them.

The K10 Plus's battery life is pretty good too. We got around three hours of cleaning out of it with fully charged. It also charges very quickly. It is able to discharge dirt into a bin located in the base station once it's finished. This can be a bit loud when it occurs, but at least it's not as loud as some of the other self-emptying robot vacuum bagless vacuums we've tried.

4. iRobot Roomba S9+

iRobot Roomba S9+ is part of the company's premium S Series lineup above models like the iRobot Roomba J7 and iRobot Roomba i3. It is very good in navigating furniture and performs well on different surfaces. Its main brushroll features counter rotating rubber scrapers that effectively remove all dirt, including pet hair, from carpets and floors. The suction power in real-world use is strong for a bagless robot vacuums vacuum but doesn't quite match the suction power of high-end models like the Roborock S8.

The Roomba S9+'s design is clearly high-end with a body that is D-shaped that appears more contemporary than its circular counterparts. This shape allows it to fit into corners and along edges easier. However, it can leave dust behind in these areas if you don't turn the corner brush fast enough. However, its powerful motor is more than enough to make up for it.

In iRobot's tests the S9+ was able to pick up pet hair and kitty litter with ease. It also performed admirably on hard floors, where its powerful motor was able to take on all types of floors as well as corners and edges with ease. Its advanced vSLAM technology as well as Imprint bagless smart vacuums Mapping made it one of our top navigators. It can find its way under sofas or beds with valances draped over them.

Setup and operation are easy with the iRobot app. You can choose the functions you'd like to activate when you first set up the robot, or wait until you've got a feel for it. Its internal bin does need to be manually emptied occasionally as it fills up however, the process takes less than 15 seconds and it's relatively quiet.

5. Roborock S8

This latest iteration of the Roborock S series is an impressive mop and robot vacuum with a robust set of features. It utilizes a LIDAR and camera system to avoid obstacles and navigate as did its predecessors. Its mapping system creates an interactive 3D map of your home, which you can view through the app, and it lets you define no-go zones, or certain rooms to be cleaned. The app can also let you manage the robot's schedule and select different suction and mopping modes for each room.

The S8 also boasts upgraded HyperForce suction that can suck up hair and other fine particles effortlessly. You can use the app to adjust the suction power and the device will automatically switch between the energy-efficient 'Quiet', Balanced', and 'Turbo' modes depending on the surface it's cleaning. It also has a 'Carpet Suction Boost' mode that increases suction when the robot is on carpets.

You can control the S8 by pressing one button that can be used as a general 'Clean button' or a "Spot Clean' button to direct the robot to that specific area. It is also possible to press the 'Dock/Home' button to send the robot back to its home base. The app is simple to use and comes with an impressive array of features. It lets you select off-peak charging times in order to lower the cost of using peak-time electricity.

The only issue with the S8 is that the battery doesn't last the amount of time I'd like. It only lasted 130 minutes when I was using it on normal settings, with both vacuuming & mopping turned on. It's still an impressive amount of time, and it was enough to completely clean my home.
